Sporteve
Playa Del Rey Triathlon
October 18th, 2009
Join us for the 2009 Sporteve Playa Del Rey
Triathlon, a benefit for collegiate triathlon that celebrates
the city’s crosstown rivalry. Set along the beautiful
bluffs of Dockweiler State Beach in Playa Del Rey, the Sporteve
Playa Del Rey Triathlon encourages students, alumni, and the
community at large to “throw down the gauntlet”,
as a portion of the proceeds are donated to the UCLA &
USC Triathlon Teams. In its first year the event raised $5000
for collegiate triathlon! Competitors will swim 600 meters,
bike 20K, and run 5K on one of the flattest and fastest courses
in Southern California.

600m Ocean Swim. The swim is located adjacent

along Westchester Parkway. Roads are almost entirely closed
to vehicle traffic and times should be very fast save for

can expect extremely fast run times. An aid station will be
located at the turn-around
